What they do
The Innovation Box is a Dutch government tax incentive designed to stimulate innovative activities by offering a reduced corporate income tax rate on profits derived from qualifying research and development (R&D). It allows companies to pay a significantly lower tax rate, currently 9%, on their "innovative profit" instead of the standard corporate tax rate. Administered by the Netherlands Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) in conjunction with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) for R&D declarations (WBSO), the scheme aims to encourage research and development within the Netherlands and support the growth of innovative businesses.
