Berlin
Who they are
Blinkist, founded in August 2012 in Berlin, Germany, is primarily a mobile learning platform that offers 15-minute summaries (Blinks) of bestselling non-fiction books and podcasts. The company was acquired by the Australian ed-tech startup Go1 on May 8, 2023, for an undisclosed amount, significantly exceeding its previous valuation. While its core business is content provision for personal and professional development, Blinkist (or its operating entity Blinks Labs) has been identified with a single strategic investment in Kaikaku, a hardware company, in April 2024, post-acquisition. Therefore, it is not a dedicated Dutch startup investor as initially implied, but a German-based content company with a recent, limited investment activity.
