Kansen voor West

Kansen voor West is a program management organization for the West Netherlands region, encompassing the four Randstad provinces (North Holland, South Holland, Utrecht, Flevoland) and their major cities. Primarily funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and regional public funds, its mission is to enhance regional competitiveness, innovation, and sustainable development. It operates by providing subsidies and investing in "financing instruments" which are essentially funds that offer loans or equity to innovative startups and SMEs. The programs target areas like technological innovation, research, and climate-friendly initiatives. Through these instruments, Kansen voor West supports businesses in their proof-of-concept and scaling-up phases, aiming to foster economic growth and create employment within the region.
