# AI Research & Developer Assistant (0.8-1 FTE)
## About this role
You work as an AI Research & Developer Assistant at AI Makerspace and Cradle, a research and development team within the Academy for AI, Games and Media (AGM) at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas). This informal but ambitious team combines academic rigor with hands-on, startup-like energy.
## Responsibilities
- Design, develop and optimize AI models for diverse applications
- Select appropriate ML architectures and techniques based on objective, dataset and hardware
- Implement containerization strategies for scalable, reliable and maintainable AI models
- Design back-end services and infrastructure to support deployment, data pipelines and integration with front-end applications and third-party systems
- Work on robotics, computer vision and physical AI projects — from model training and evaluation to integration with real robotic platforms
- Collaborate with software developers, data scientists and product teams
- Contribute to education by supervising students and occasionally delivering lectures
- Document and present work through industry reports and peer-reviewed publications
## What we offer
- Monthly salary: minimum €3,667.97 to maximum €5,154.67 (gross, based on full-time)
- Position classified at scale 9 of the collective labor agreement for higher education; official job title: Instructor
- Employment contract for one year with possibility of conversion to permanent contract

## What we ask of you
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning or related field
- Proven experience in AI development, particularly in developing and training deep learning models
- Familiarity with robotics frameworks such as ROS, Isaac Lab or similar
- Experience integrating perception models with robotic or embedded systems
- Strong programming skills in Python and comfort with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Knowledge of C# and Blazor is an advantage
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Knowledge of web service integration via REST APIs
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Willingness to work in an international and intercultural setting
