# Principal Data Engineer (m/f/d) - Amsterdam

## Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales and pre-sales to clarify requirements and design viable solutions
- Establish a clear vision and direction for the data paradigm and practices, aligned with overall business strategy
- Collaborate with executive-level stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and identify opportunities to leverage data
- Provide consulting on complex data platform programs with client-facing technical leadership
- Create, design and develop intricate data processing pipelines addressing clients' most challenging problems
- Collaborate with data scientists to design scalable implementation and production of their models
- Write clean, iterative code based on TDD and apply continuous delivery practices
- Design and implement strategy around data governance, data security and data privacy
- Represent Thoughtworks in online and offline forums, including events and conferences
## Required Skills & Experience
Technical:
- Extensive pre-sales experience and proven ability to independently drive complex pursuits
- Experience leading enterprise data strategy, system design, and end-to-end implementation of large-scale solutions
- Native-level German speaker (C1)
- Hands-on experience in system design using Domain-Driven Design principles
- Deep experience with Big Data architectures, data pipelines, and data storage in distributed systems
- Thorough understanding of data modeling and practical experience with modern data engineering tools and cloud warehousing solutions
- Practical ability to write production-grade code while leading teams
- Experience building and deploying large-scale data pipelines using distributed storage and processing platforms
- Experience designing and developing streaming solutions leveraging leading technologies
- Experience implementing data governance and security policies with understanding of MLOps and data science concepts
