Wonderful, the Amsterdam-based AI company building an operating system for business processes, closed a Series C round of €475 million ($550 million) on 2 September 2026. Insight Partners led the round; Index Ventures, IVP, Bessemer Venture Partners, Vine Ventures and 9Yards Capital participated again. Salesforce joins as a new strategic shareholder. The post-money valuation stands at €4.3 billion ($5 billion).
In addition to the primary round, investors put in a further $170 million through a secondary transaction, acquiring existing shares from employees and angel investors. Together, this brings total funding to more than $800 million raised in under two years. The company, founded in early 2025 in Tel Aviv, relocated its headquarters to Amsterdam and is now active in more than 35 markets with approximately 650 employees worldwide, roughly half of whom work in Israel.
The Series C follows a $150 million Series B in March 2026 and a $100 million Series A in November 2025. Prior to those, the company raised $34 million in a seed round. The pace is notable: the valuation doubled from $2 billion to $5 billion in the period between the B and C rounds.
From customer service to company-wide automation
Wonderful started with AI-driven customer service agents for non-English-speaking markets, a deliberate choice that set the company apart from competitors primarily targeting the English-language market early on. That approach helped the company grow quickly outside the major English-speaking technology markets.
Wonderful now positions itself more broadly: its platform enables organisations to automate complete workflows and run AI-native applications on a single shared layer. The system is model-agnostic, meaning customers are not tied to a specific AI model or a single cloud provider. When a better model becomes available, they can switch without rebuilding their entire infrastructure.
That flexibility is not a minor detail. Companies that have built an AI stack over the past two years regularly encounter the problem that models become outdated quickly and that migration is costly. A vendor-independent platform appeals to organisations that want to preserve freedom of choice down the line.
Founders with backgrounds in payments and localisation
Behind Wonderful are CEO Bar Winkler and CTO Roey Lalazar. Winkler previously founded Approve.com, a platform for automated payment management for businesses that was sold to Tipalti in 2021. Lalazar previously built Kaps, an AI-driven localisation platform.
That combination of prior ventures says something about how Wonderful has shaped its product: attention to financial processes and multilingual capability is embedded in the founders' backgrounds. The early focus on non-English-speaking markets follows directly from that.
Salesforce as strategic shareholder
Salesforce's participation as a strategic investor stands out alongside the financial backers. Salesforce is itself a major player in enterprise software and CRM, and has been actively investing in AI companies complementary to its own product line in recent years. The precise terms of Salesforce's participation have not been made public, but strategic investments in the industry typically come with cooperation agreements or preferred positions for integrations.
Insight Partners, which led the round, is one of the larger growth funds in the technology sector with a broad portfolio of software companies. The return of Index Ventures, IVP, Bessemer and Vine indicates that existing shareholders retain confidence in the company's direction.
Use of capital
Wonderful states it intends to deploy the funds toward three goals: accelerating product development, expanding implementation teams globally, and keeping pace with demand for the platform. The company has not published specific targets for market share or revenue.
The rapid successive pace of fundraising, three large rounds within less than a year of the seed, reflects a pattern seen more frequently among AI companies that show early scaling momentum. Large funds want to get in quickly at such companies, which accelerates the rounds. At the same time, this raises the expectation that growth will continue and justify itself in the years ahead.
