Blue Health Intelligence, an Amsterdam-based startup founded in 2025, allows people to undergo ten medical tests in one hour and discuss the results directly with a doctor. The service is available at the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam and costs €299 per visit, with no referral letter or existing complaints required.
The concept focuses on prevention: giving people insight into their health before symptoms arise. After the consultation with the doctor, clients receive their results and a personalised action plan via an app, designed to keep them on track until their next annual check. More than 2,000 people have now booked an appointment, and the location is fully booked through November.
The company was founded by three co-founders: Onno Huyghe, previously CCO at bike-sharing platform Swapfiets and energy company Tibber; doctor and healthcare entrepreneur Leanne Verdonck; and Peter-Paul de Leeuw, who previously co-founded transcription software company Amberscript.
What the check involves
During the visit to the location at Prinsengracht 570-H, clients go through ten tests. These include an ECG for cardiac activity, an ultrasound, a 3D body scan, and a blood analysis. All results are processed on-site and then discussed in a personal consultation with a doctor.
The company describes its approach as a combination of medical expertise, evidence-based diagnostics, and attention to user experience. The outcomes and action plan are subsequently accessible via a dedicated app. Through this, Blue Health Intelligence aims to position the check not as a one-off moment, but as the starting point of ongoing health follow-up.
The service requires no referral from a general practitioner and is open to anyone who wants active insight into their health. At €299 per check, the company positions itself in a segment that is more expensive than standard GP care but cheaper than comprehensive private clinical examinations.
Funding of just over €4.4 million
Blue Health Intelligence has raised a total of just over €4.4 million across two rounds. A first round of just over €1 million was closed in January 2026. On 30 September 2026, a second round of €3.4 million followed, both led by Knop Investments.
Other investors include Jeroen Tas, former Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer at Philips, Dutch influencer Anna Nooshin, Rabobank, early-stage fund Antler, and various angel investors. The combination of a healthcare professional, an operator with scaling experience, and a tech founder on the founding team aligns with the profiles that typically attract this type of investor.
Plans for expansion to Paris or Milan
Blue Health Intelligence describes itself as building a scalable preventive care platform. In practical terms, this means a second location abroad: the company aims to open in Paris or Milan in the first half of 2027. Which city it will be has not yet been announced.
The team currently has between one and fifteen employees. The speed at which the Amsterdam location filled up gives the company a measurable argument to present to investors and potential landlords in other cities. Whether the model is profitable at larger scale depends in part on the costs of medical staff and equipment at each new location.
Within the broader Dutch and European health tech scene, Blue Health Intelligence fits into a series of initiatives seeking to make preventive care more accessible outside the standard healthcare system. For investors active in digital health and for policymakers considering the pressure on primary and hospital care, it will be worth watching whether a paid prevention model like this generates sustained demand or primarily reaches a niche audience. The expansion to a second European city in 2027 will provide an initial data point.
