Blue Health Intelligence, the Amsterdam-based startup behind a 360-degree health check, has closed a new investment round of €3.4 million. The round was led by Knop Investments and brings total funding within the company's first year of existence to just over €4.4 million.
The company opened its first location in Amsterdam in April 2025. Since then, more than 2,000 people have booked an appointment. The Amsterdam location on the Prinsengracht is fully booked through November. The new capital will go towards international expansion and further product development of the Blue platform.
Alongside lead investor Knop Investments, Jeroen Tas, former Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer at Philips, and lifestyle influencer Anna Nooshin also participated in the round. Maurits Koning serves as Managing Director at Knop Investments.
What the health check entails
Blue Health Intelligence focuses on preventive healthcare outside the regular healthcare system. For €299, a customer completes ten examinations in one hour, including an ECG, ultrasound, 3D body scan and blood analysis. These tests provide insight into the condition of the heart, liver, metabolism and kidneys.
The results are discussed immediately afterwards in a consultation with a doctor. Within 24 hours, a personalised action plan is available via the Blue app. The company was founded in 2025 by Onno Huyghe (CEO, previously CCO at Swapfiets and Tibber), physician and healthcare entrepreneur Leanne Verdonck, and Peter-Paul de Leeuw. Blue Health Intelligence currently has 15 employees.
The approach targets people who want to detect early signals in their body before symptoms arise. According to the company, health risks such as deteriorating blood values or vascular abnormalities often develop years before they become noticeable.
Data and AI as the core of the platform
Blue Health Intelligence describes its approach as strongly data-driven. Each check generates hundreds of data points, which are analysed immediately to produce personalised outcomes. PitchBook categorises the company under the Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning vertical, with Blue Health Intelligence deploying AI techniques for recommendations in the personal action plan.
The app serves as the central point where customers can find and track their results and advice until their next annual check. Processing diverse medical measurement data, from imaging to blood values, into a coherent and comprehensible overview for the end user is technically complex and requires automation of interpretation. The company has not yet made public how far that automation goes or to what extent machine learning plays a role in it.
Plans for Paris and Milan
A large portion of the €3.4 million will go towards international expansion. Blue Health Intelligence is considering opening its first international location in Paris or Milan, with an expected opening in the first half of 2027. The company is thereby targeting two major European cities with a comparable urban market to Amsterdam.
In Amsterdam, the company already works with partners such as TrainMore, Hotel & Wellness Zuiver and Fosbury & Sons Amsterdam. Whether similar partnerships will be pursued in the new markets has not been announced.
Demand for the check was stronger than the company itself had anticipated, according to its own communications. Whether and when a second location in the Netherlands will be opened has not yet been announced.
The growth of Blue Health Intelligence fits into a broader movement of European healthtech startups offering preventive, consumer-focused care outside the traditional healthcare chain. For investors, it is a segment that attracts interest through the combination of direct consumer payments, recurring annual check-ins and the opportunity to build longitudinal health data. For policymakers and other founders, the rapid sell-out in Amsterdam demonstrates that demand for accessible preventive diagnostics exceeds what the current supply covers.
