Paris-based company Kaiko, which provides institutional market data for digital assets and tokenised markets, closed an extension of its Series B round in September 2026. The total amount raised now stands at $110 million, more than doubling the original Series B of $53 million announced in 2022. The round was led by S&P Global.
Several major financial names participated in the extension, including BNP Paribas, Nasdaq Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada, Broadridge, Coinbase Ventures, DRW Venture Capital, Bpifrance, Canton Foundation, Stellar and Susquehanna Private Equity Investments. Existing shareholders Anthemis, Point Nine and Revaia also participated. The capital is intended to further develop Kaiko's core data business, with an emphasis on data infrastructure for onchain capital markets and tokenised assets.
Kaiko was founded in 2014 and now serves more than 250 financial firms and regulators, collecting data from more than 150 exchanges and protocols. CEO Ambre Soubiran leads the company.
Convergence of traditional finance and digital markets in the investor list
The composition of the investor group illustrates how traditional financial institutions and players from the crypto industry are increasingly sitting at the same table. S&P Global, the American data and index giant, takes the lead role, while BNP Paribas and Royal Bank of Canada join as major European and Canadian banks respectively. At the same time, Coinbase Ventures, the investment arm of the largest US crypto exchange, is also represented.
Nasdaq Ventures, the exchange operator's investment vehicle, backs a company that effectively fulfils a comparable role for digital assets to what Nasdaq itself does for traditional securities: aggregating, normalising and distributing market data. The fact that these parties are jointly investing in a specialised data provider for onchain finance indicates that institutional interest in this segment has grown further.
Partnership with Lise for data on tokenised equities
Alongside the funding round, Kaiko previously announced, on 31 March 2026, a long-term partnership with Lise, the Lightning Stock Exchange. Lise positions itself as Europe's first tokenised stock exchange. Under this partnership, Kaiko will aggregate, normalise and distribute real-time and end-of-day price data for all securities listed on Lise, starting with equities.
The collaboration focuses on delivering institutional-quality market data for tokenised securities, a segment that is still developing but is attracting increasing attention from regulators and financial institutions across Europe. Kaiko's role in this partnership aligns with the broader strategy of serving data infrastructure for both traditional and onchain markets from a single platform.
RiskTech100 recognition for digital asset data
On 24 September 2026, research firm Chartis Research announced that Kaiko has been included in the RiskTech100 2027 ranking, an annual selection of leading technology companies in risk management for financial markets. Kaiko also received a category award in the Treasury, Finance and Markets segment, specifically for Digital Assets Pricing and Modeling.
The RiskTech100 list is compiled by Chartis Research on the basis of market position, client base, product development and innovation. An inclusion on this list is regarded within the industry as a signal that a provider is taken seriously by institutional clients and regulators.
Significance for the European digital asset data market
For the European fintech and crypto scene, Kaiko's round is an example of how specialised data infrastructure for digital assets is attracting increasing amounts of institutional capital. The involvement of Bpifrance, the French state investment fund, underlines that government-affiliated investment parties now take this segment seriously alongside traditional venture investors.
For founders and investors active in the broader infrastructure layer of digital and tokenised markets, this round demonstrates that there is demand for regulated, reliable data services that meet the compliance and risk requirements of large financial institutions. With the arrival of European regulation around crypto assets, such as MiCA, the need for standardised and auditable market data is growing, a position that Kaiko aims to further entrench with these investors and partnerships.
