TWINport360 from Varsseveld has received €1 million in seed financing from Oost NL, through the Innovatie- en Energiefonds Gelderland (IEG), and a consortium of business angels. The company, founded in 2024 by CEO Wouter Klunder and CTO Raymond Wentink, builds a system that automatically inspects products in industrial bakeries, thereby reducing food waste.
With the new funds, TWINport360 aims to introduce its technology to customers in the Netherlands and beyond more quickly. The company is already working with Aryzta, the company behind the well-known Pré Pain brand, and says it is in talks with other international parties. The financing was announced at the end of August 2025.
What the system does
TWINport360 has developed a patented scanning technology that photographs every product from all sides in full colour and in three dimensions. Based on that scan, the system creates a 6D digital twin of each individual product, linked to proprietary inspection algorithms that determine whether a product meets quality requirements.
The inspection is fully automated, meaning no on-site inspector is required. With these continuous measurements, bakeries can adjust their processes and save on raw materials or energy. TWINport360 states that the system delivers up to 70% less food waste, alongside higher and more consistent product quality and reduced dependence on scarce labour on the production line.
According to TWINport360, the system can also be deployed in other parts of the manufacturing industry. Which other sectors will follow and when remains to be announced by the company.
Financing via regional innovation fund
The €1 million investment comes in part from Oost NL, the regional development agency for Gelderland and Overijssel, through the Innovatie- en Energiefonds Gelderland. That fund focuses on young companies in the region that are developing innovative technology with potential for employment and sustainability. In addition to Oost NL, business angels are participating in the round, although the names of those investors have not been made public.
For TWINport360, this is its first formal investment round. The company was only founded in 2024 and is therefore at an early stage of development. The financing is classified as a seed round.
Position in the Gelderland and Dutch AI ecosystem
TWINport360 fits into a broader movement in which Dutch manufacturing companies and startups are deploying machine vision and AI to automate production processes and reduce food waste. The combination of regional fund capital through Oost NL and private business angels is a common structure for early-stage companies outside the Randstad, where the supply of informal capital has traditionally been smaller than in Amsterdam or Eindhoven. The fact that TWINport360, based in Varsseveld, has already managed to attract a customer such as Aryzta is an early signal that the technology is viable for industrial use, although the broader rollout has yet to largely take place.
