Kaiko

Kaiko is a technology company that develops an artificial intelligence colleague, named kaiko.w, designed to assist clinicians in a medical setting. The company's primary focus is on enhancing the capacity for care provided by medical professionals through the use of its AI assistant. Since 2021, Kaiko has been working in partnership with the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI–AVL), a prominent cancer center in Europe, to deploy its kaiko.w system within live clinical workflows. Clinicians at the institute are actively using the system to support their daily work, validating its utility in a real-world environment. Building on this initial success, the company is now in the process of expanding the deployment of its AI assistant to hospitals across Europe. Kaiko is founded and majority owned by the Hartwig Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting medical research, education, and art. This ownership structure underscores the company's mission to contribute to the medical field.
