Two prompts, no tools, no repo - and Claude stops producing the same AI design everyone else is shipping. BOTH PROMPTS, READY TO PASTE: 1) "Design [thing]. Give me the most stereotypical, most generic version of this you can, the version everyone has already seen." 2) "List the 10 visual cliches you just used." then, in a brand new chat with the same brief: "Now design it again from the same brief, and avoid every single thing on that list." The reason your AI design looks generic is that the model defaults to the average of the internet. Purple gradient, glass card, the same three icons. It isn't being lazy, it's being statistical. So use that against it. Prompt 1: ask for the most stereotypical, most generic version it can possibly make of your brief. You get exactly what you'd expect. Then ask it to list the ten cliches it just used. It will, without argument, because it built them itself. The model is a far better critic of its own output than it is a first-drafter. Prompt 2: open a brand new chat, paste the exact same brief, paste those ten cliches back in, and tell it to avoid every single one. It's handing a chef your allergy list - they cook around it. The second version isn't AI slop. It's just a good design. This works in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or anything else with a long enough context window, and it works for UI, landing pages, decks and logos alike.
