This webinar introduces a new international standard on assessing the environmental impact of AI systems (ITU‑T L.1801, also known as an ITU‑T Recommendation)—the first of its kind to provide a comprehensive and harmonized methodology. The session offers a deep dive into the standard, exploring how it enables organizations to assess the environmental impacts of AI across its full lifecycle—from development and training to deployment and end-of-life—while accounting for both direct and indirect effects. Through practical explanations and real-world perspectives, participants will learn how the standard can be applied to support transparent, comparable, and robust environmental assessments of AI systems.
