# Intern - Speech Interaction Analyst (Chinese Speaker)
At Huawei Amsterdam Research Center, we are shaping the next generation of AI systems that can understand not only information, but also human emotion.
We are seeking a motivated speech interaction analyst intern to join our research team. This role is ideal for students who want hands-on experience contributing to AI systems that learn to recognize and respond to human emotions and social cues.
You will support ongoing research into emotion-aware AI and multimodal interaction, through the analysis of paralinguistic cues, affective signals and social dynamics in human speech.
## Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and refinement of annotation guidelines through research and analysis
- Use specialized annotation toolkits to label, segment, and categorize speech data
- Annotate affective signals, paralinguistic cues and conversational social dynamics in human speech
- Contribute to datasets used to train and evaluate emotion-aware AI systems
- Collaborate with machine learning researchers and engineers to improve model performance and data quality
- Engage in discussion meetings with expert speech interaction analysts from China
- Stay up to date with recent work in affective computing, affective science and psychology
## Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Communication Sciences, Cultural Studies, or a related field
- Native or fluent proficiency in Mandarin Chinese required; proficiency in English required
- Basic understanding of data analysis and statistics is preferred but not required
- Interest in human communication, emotion perception, and conversational behavior
- Good communication skills
- Preferably available for a 6-month internship
- Must be based in the Netherlands
