What they do
The Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) is the Dutch financial regulator that oversees market conduct and consumer protection in the financial sector. It enforces regulations for banks, investment firms, insurers and other financial service providers. The AFM prevents fraud, abuse of market positions and unfair trading practices, and works to maintain confidence in the Dutch financial markets.
