# Senior AI Research Engineer - Adyen
## The Opportunity
Adyen is building a top-tier AI engineering organization in Amsterdam, San Francisco and Madrid to drive innovation using AI globally. This is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on exploration and application of cutting-edge AI research within the financial technology sector. You will operate with high autonomy and responsibility, delivering strategic, high-impact outcomes that bridge advanced AI research and production-grade applications at global scale.
## What You'll Do
- Innovate and Deploy: Drive execution of Adyen's AI strategy, focusing on practical application of Generative AI (GenAI) and other AI methodologies in finance. Contribute to key research areas such as AI agents for data analysis and operational workflows, human-in-the-loop for integrity risk, and development of foundation models.
- Build Production-grade Applications: Bridge cutting-edge AI research and production by implementing research papers into robust, scalable, production-ready code. Champion engineering and scientific alignment by setting high quality standards.
- Optimize and Scale: Contribute to defining long-term vision for AI at Adyen, specifically how AI will interact with humans and finance. Understand regulation and advocate for safe innovation.
- Think Outside the Box: Drive innovation by challenging status quo, introducing transformative ideas and implementing creative solutions. Carry out flexible, value-driven assignments and proactively unblock teams.
- Force Multiplier: Provide mentorship and horizontal sponsorship across the organization, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement culture.

## Who You Are
- Deeply embedded in scientific AI research community with strong understanding of latest state-of-the-art advancements
- Significant experience and strong understanding of Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Strong engineering mindset with track record of writing clean, efficient, and scalable code for production environments
- Demonstrated experience taking cutting-edge AI research papers and implementing them into production-quality code
- Ability to think critically and deliver simple, elegant solutions to complex cross-team problems
- Excel at translating complex technical concepts into clear terms for diverse audiences
- Strong at leveraging empathy, influence, negotiation, relationship building, and conflict resolution
