For Gemeente Montferland, we are seeking an AI Engineer. You work on the project The Virtual Assistant, scaling a proven prototype into a universal open-source building blocks framework.
With this framework, you combine ready-made modules (orchestration, RAG, guardrails, CMS, evaluation) to build your own AI assistants, bots or agents.
As an AI Engineer with full-stack experience, you design, build and optimize AI components and virtual assistants within a government or enterprise context. You combine machine-learning expertise with full-stack software development to deliver scalable, secure and well-documented solutions that are production-ready and transferable.
## Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI components and architectures for virtual assistants.
- Set up and integrate modules such as orchestration, RAG, guardrails, CMS and evaluation.
- Ensure scalability, security and reliable operation in an enterprise or government context.
- Implement best practices for deployment, testing, CI/CD and monitoring.
- Document solutions and facilitate transfer to administrators and development teams.
## Your Profile
- You work results-oriented and deliver concrete, production-ready solutions.
- You are a team player and contribute to collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- You have strong communication skills and can explain both technically and in understandable terms to stakeholders what you have built.
- You have experience with both machine-learning and full-stack software development and know how to combine these disciplines.
- You write clear documentation and ensure that solutions are transferable and maintainable.
## Job Requirements
- You have at least a completed HBO bachelor degree
- You have at least 3 years of work experience building AI and LLM solutions
- You have at least 3 years of experience with fullstack development, including Kotlin/Ktor, Python/FastAPI, Kotlin Compose and JavaScript/HTML
- You have at least 5 years of experience with architecture, systems integration and secure-by-design solutions
