# Senior Applied AI Engineer
As a Senior Applied AI Engineer at Celonis, you will work directly with strategic customers to understand their objectives and challenges, identify high-impact AI opportunities, and turn them into measurable business value. You will build solutions using the Celonis Process Intelligence platform combined with leading AI and ML technologies such as Microsoft, OpenAI, and Databricks.
## Key Responsibilities
- Identify high-impact AI opportunities by working closely with enterprise customers to understand strategic priorities and operational challenges
- Design AI-powered solutions that translate complex business problems into scalable AI architectures combining Process Intelligence platform with modern AI technologies
- Rapidly prototype and demonstrate value through proof-of-value solutions showing tangible outcomes to business and technical stakeholders
- Lead AI innovation with customers through workshops, hackathons, and innovation sessions
- Drive adoption and business impact by partnering with customer teams to ensure successful implementation and realization of measurable value
- Develop domain expertise in specific industries or business domains (e.g., supply chain, finance) and scale knowledge across the organization
## Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in solutions consulting, data/AI consulting, technical pre-sales, sales engineering, value engineering, or customer-facing solution-architecture or AI roles
- Strong ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to business and executive stakeholders
- Good understanding of business processes across sectors (supply chain, finance) with ability to translate high-level business needs into specific AI use cases
- Strong presentation skills for whiteboarding sessions, formal readouts, and demos
- Experience prototyping solutions with Python and modern AI frameworks
- Familiarity with Generative AI architectures such as RAG, prompt engineering, or agent-based systems
- Bachelor's Degree required (Master's Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields is a nice-to-have)
## Nice to Have
- Experience building or deploying generative AI applications
- Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or other LLM orchestration frameworks
- Industry experience in supply chain, finance, or operations
