Postdoc on human-centric, collaborative AI

Postdoc position (1 year) in the Department of Industrial Technology & Innovation Sciences at TU/e, focused on developing human-centric, explainable AI for sequential decision-making and reinforcement learning. You will work within the European PEER project to create interactive AI systems that enable better mutual understanding and collaboration between humans and AI assistants.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop novel human-centric AI algorithms and techniques for reinforcement learning and planning
• Create enhanced algorithms for explaining automated sequential decision-making with interactive user feedback
• Integrate learning, planning, user feedback and explanation methods into fluid interaction loops
• Contribute to the management of a work package in the Horizon Europe PEER project
• Collaborate with international partners on scientific coordination and project delivery

Possible research topics:

• Reinforcement learning and planning methods that propose multiple solutions for user adaptation
• Interactive explanation algorithms responsive to user feedback
• Integration of learning, planning, feedback and explanation in human-AI interaction loops
