Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer, you are responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data workspaces to support machine learning solutions. You take ownership of the data platform and ensure stability, reliability and continuous improvement. You assemble and automate processes to make data available for analytics and model operationalization. You work closely with the Agile DevOps team and stakeholders to translate requirements into working production solutions. You develop and deploy prototypes and translate Proof of Concepts into production-ready solutions. You work independently within a team of 4-6 data and software professionals, spending approximately 60% of your time on development, 20% on implementation and 20% on testing and support.

Job requirements:

• Completed technical science degree at HBO or university level, preferably in Business & ICT, Mathematics or Computer Science
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in data engineering and machine learning projects
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services, including data pipelines, data lake storage and datawarehousing
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps principles for automating deployment and management
• Knowledge of MLOps principles and bringing machine learning models into production
• Experience developing Proof of Concepts and MVPs into scalable solutions
• Familiarity with working according to Scrum/Agile principles and good communication skills towards the business
• Based in Gouda with willingness to be mobile
