IntelliSys 2026 brings international AI conference to Amsterdam

26 June 2026·3 min read

Amsterdam will be at the centre of the international AI research community in September 2026. The 12th edition of the Intelligent Systems Conference, better known as IntelliSys, will take place on 3 and 4 September in the Dutch capital. The conference is organised by the British Science and Information (SAI) Organization Limited, which founded the event in 2015.

IntelliSys focuses on the interplay between AI theory and practical applications across a wide range of disciplines. The organisation expects around one thousand participants from more than fifty countries, ranging from academics and researchers to data scientists, tech startups and business leaders looking to deploy AI within their organisations. Attendance is possible both in person and online.

The Mercure Amsterdam City Hotel is listed as the venue, although another source mentions the Van der Valk Hotel Amsterdam - Amstel. The organisation has not yet publicly clarified the discrepancy.

Dutch speakers prominent in the programme

Among the announced keynote speakers are several well-known figures from the Dutch and European research community. Wil van der Aalst, professor at RWTH Aachen and one of the founders of process mining, is on the programme, as is Cees G.M. Snoek, professor of computer vision at the University of Amsterdam. Valentin Robu, Nora Kassner and Bedir Tekinerdogan have also been announced as speakers.

The conference chair is Sebastiano Battiato. The organisation can be reached via contact person Supriya Kapoor.

Topics ranging from machine learning to sustainable systems

The content programme covers a broad range of subjects. Regular themes include machine learning and deep learning, AI applications in healthcare, finance and security, and data science with predictive analytics. Additional topics include natural language processing, computer vision, robotics and human-computer interaction.

A growing share of the programme addresses AI in the context of sustainability, including intelligent automation for a sustainable society, smart energy management, autonomous vehicles and the ethical and societal implications of AI systems. IoT architectures, smart cities and cyber-physical systems are also on the agenda.

Papers and publication

Those wishing to submit a paper have until 1 March 2026 to send in an abstract or proposal for the second submission round. Acceptance decisions will follow on 1 April, after which camera-ready versions must be submitted no later than 15 April 2026.

Accepted and presented papers will be published via two routes. The first is the Springer series Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems, indexed in Web of Science, Scopus and SCImago, among others. The second is IEEE Xplore, subject to approval by IEEE. For both routes, the organisation distinguishes between full papers that are presented at the conference.

Registration fees

Registration fees vary by category and mode of participation. Authors and participants attending in person pay £750; online participation is priced at £600. Ticket platform ConfsList also offers a general admission ticket at €500 and a student ticket at €250. Payment can be made by credit card, debit card or bank transfer.

Amsterdam as an AI conference destination

IntelliSys choosing Amsterdam for its twelfth edition fits into a broader trend of international AI and tech conferences increasingly using the city as a base. Amsterdam has a dense concentration of research institutions, including the University of Amsterdam with its AI lab, and an active startup ecosystem centred on AI applications. For Dutch founders and investors, an event such as IntelliSys offers the opportunity to connect directly with a global network of researchers and potential partners, without the barrier of international travel costs. For policymakers looking to strengthen the Netherlands' position in the European AI strategy, conferences of this kind also generate a visibility that is otherwise difficult to achieve.
