# Data Scientist - Applied Data Science Team
ASML is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Applied Data Science team within the Business Line Applications. You will evaluate and apply new learning methodologies to develop solutions that improve on-customer product performance obtained with ASML machines and applications.
## Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and apply new learning methodologies and develop solutions to improve on-customer product performance
- Develop and evaluate Machine Learning & Data Mining algorithms
- Combine scanner and metrology data with information on fab usage conditions to discover relations between stochastic variables
- Design robust and adaptive models that generalize well and can deal with uncertainty
- Develop new data analytics, visualizations and control solutions using cutting-edge techniques from Machine Learning and Data Mining
- Handle, analyze and visualize complex, high-volume, high-dimensional data from varying sources
- Interact with peer data scientists and multidisciplinary product development teams
- Occasional travel to customers worldwide
## Required Background
- Ph.D. in Machine Learning/Data Science, or M.Sc. in Data Science, Statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience in software development with strong coding skills in Matlab, R, and Python
- Ability to communicate complex mathematical concepts clearly and precisely
- Experience working on practical applications using real-world datasets
- Enthusiastic and intrinsically motivated with creative thinking abilities
- Good proactive communication in international and multidisciplinary environments
- Goal-oriented and flexible mindset with willingness to acquire lithography and semiconductor manufacturing knowledge
